Question about
Has anyone had any success using this NAS with an Apple TV?
I have ordered the new Apple TV and am looking for a 4 bay NAS enclosure that will work with my Apple TV without streaming via my MacbookPro .. will this work? If not is there one that will that someone can recommend?
As far as I know, there is no way to do this without hacking. I have a Netgear/Infrant ReadyNAS that has an iTunes server built in, but there is no way to sync that as the AppleTV library.
On the old AppleTV you could mount a NFS or AFP share after hacking and stream video from there. It worked pretty well, but there are more options now for solid network streaming so it doesn't seem worth the effort to hack.
