Has anyone been able to get the Verizon service on this to activate. I got mine yesterday and I haven't been able to get the Verizon to activate.

Around a week ago Google got back on this issue. Apparently they have been having issues with it working with Verizon during set up. The Google rep got ahold of Verizon and the 3 of us did a bit of setup. Had to do a bit of terminal work on the CR-48 and now it works.

So if you are having issues shoot a email to one of the Chrome OS Ninja's and they will get back to you. Took me a bit longer because of the holidays and bad timing every time Verizon or Google tried calling me.

I was able to activate without issue. Are you able to get to the Verizon activation page? When you enable the cellular radio, do you see the activate option? Disable your Wifi, connect to verizon and go to chrome://mobilesetup/

Yeah I can get to the Verizon activation page where it says it will be a minute or so to activate. After a few minutes it times out and doesn't do anything.

I just tried to get the Verizon to activate again and I waited for the error to come in before I gave up again. Here is the error.

Also, is there anyway to take a screen shot?

looks like you are still connected to wifi there. disable the wifi radio comepletely. the bars should show a small green 3g symbol.

Well at the time I took the picture of the screen was a few minutes after it failed. The WiFi automatically kicked back on after it failed to connect to Verizon.

Don't let that 1 bar fool ya as well, I've been at full bars else where and couldn't get connected.

the only reason I say disable the wifi radio, not just disconnect, is thats what i had to do. The only connectivity you should have is the 3g radio.

Yeah, it automatically disables the WiFi radio and tries to connect. I've let this go automatically and I've also done it manually before attempting a Verizon connection.

One other thing I will suggest is try a different location. Perhaps a compatibility issue with the tower near your place.

I had to call Verizon. They give you a support number to call in an email when you originally activate the service. I got right through to a tech and a little while later they had me up and going.

I emailed one of the Google Chrome OS Ninja's and the next day I had a guy from Verizon call. But I wasn't awake to take the call, so I called the number posted by astrogiblet and that was just the general number for Verizon support. No one that I talked to knew what I was talking about. So the representative that I was talking to said he would give me a call if he found out more on how he could help me.

Just got mine on Monday, after setting up, just went through the VZW setup and everything worked fine after activation took about 2-4 minutes... Sorry to hear about your issues :/
