Has anybody been able to get the Verizon service to activate? I can't get mine to work at all.

You might want to reach out to Verizon directly. Another user on gdgt was having trouble getting the Verizon 3g working, but got it working by contacting Verizon tech support: gdgt.com/discuss/some-quick-observations-on-my-cr-...

I attempted to connect and OS gave me a Verizon help number. I called and got a CSR who was properly briefed on the Cr-48 and had me activated in minutes. Did not ask for a credit card number but did ask for a name, address, and a security question to create a Verizon customer account.

Activation was fast and easy. Which is good as I'll likely only use the free 100MB/mo.

Do you happen to have the number? I never get that, I just get a "Connectivity" error.

I got the same error and called the number 1-800-786-8419 they were very nice but couldn't get it activated. He had me go to www.google.com/support/chromeos/bin/request.py?con... to get a chromeos ninja to help. You have to have the serial number of the laptop found under the battery and you can be contacted by email, phone or the next available on call person. I went with email since it's not urgent that I get it working because I also have a MiFi.

Finally got it working found this thread https://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thre... and the answer was near the bottom of the thread. Hat to go to chrome://system, expand mm-status, find the payment_url, copy it and go to it on wifi. After I filled out all of the Verizon activation stuff it gave me a number for the modem and then activated on the next attempt.
