Google Maps not using GPS

Has anyone else seen this? For some reason Google Maps on the Tour doesn't use the GPS so it will not zero in on your location. It's forced to only use cell towers which give about a 2500 meter radius or so. Does anyone know when Google will fix this???

its not a google issue, its a verizon issue. even though they "unlocked" the GPS it still will only work with the native blackberry maps. google maps is far superior to maps, but at least maps is better than nothing.

GPS works fine with Google Maps and most other apps that can take advantage of it. Make sure you have GPS Services set to "Location On". Go to Options, Advanced Options, GPS, and change GPS Services from "E911 Only" to "Location On".

Verizon Tours have no issues with GPS but I have heard that its a Google issue when it comes to the Sprint Tours. Its some issue with Google and Sprint's network as opposed to Verizon's which has no issues. I honestly don't know much about this because I don't need to. My Verizon Tour locks in seconds. :) I would search the Crackberry Forums for this. I have seen tons of posts about it.

An OS upgrade has been released for Sprint RIM Blackberry Tour
On your Sprint RIM Blackberry Tour phone on the main screen go to
Options
Advanced Options
Wireless updates
Check for updates
It will find v4.7.1.57
download (20 meg)
install
It takes about 2 hours start to finish
The GPS functions on Google maps v3.0.2 will now work

look around, you should be able to find the leaked 4.7.1.57 (or try a 5.0 build, .230 works great) maybe one of those will help your phone out.
