Getting a little annoyed

So I've liked this headset for a while but I've been getting really annoyed that I keep having to replace them because connection from the chord to the jack itself seem to always break; pretty much only one side of the earphone working and the other dead. It's nice that I can always return and exchange it but must I do it 6 times? Tomorrow will be my 7th since I have to grab my receipt again to trade it in. I'm debating if I should do it and just sell it on ebay. I'm not rough on these things since I don't run around with them, I never wrap them on my phone and zune HD, I actually keep them in the pouch it comes with, and I gently untangle them and wrap them neatly inside the bag so it won't break. They've offered me both with the plastic-y cable and the other with what looks like fabric cable, they both still have weak points. This never was a problem with the cheap earphones I've bought, even the ones that came with my zune. I have the Skullcandy Ink'd which has weaker shielding with the cable, and my dog has chewed it a little bit, and that one still functions properly compare to the FMJs.

Anyways, should I give up on these headset or keep trading them in since it's a lifetime warranty?

PS if you ask why I'm using an iPhone headset with my Zune, it's cuz this also works great with my Android phone for music and phone calls.

Okay, so i had these exact headphones about three months ago. I had had the same exact problems with them, and at about the 5th time I had to use the warranty; i gave up. I figured that by the time i send them in and get them back, even with the expedited service you get with these as opposed to the ink'ds, the lifetime warranty isn't worth it. So at this point I am still looking for a replacement set. I've gone through Klipsch(the cheapest ones :) ) and they were okay, V-moda Faze( the bass lacked), and now I am getting Sony MDR-XB40EX (which don't have the call buttom/mic)... so alas it is your choice whether you want to get rid of them, but in my opinion; i was over it earlier than you. You have much patience. Hope that helped a little. Please let me know if you find an elegant solution on the cheap... I have an iPhone, and i kind of want the call button. -Nik

I actually did, I got the Bose in-ear headset and they work fine so far. I just wanted to see people's advice if I should replace and sell, or just ignore this headphones and put them as HAD here on gdgt.com

Bose are no better in terms of build quality than Skullcandy. In fact, they're just Skullcandy for adults.
