Question about
Fragile Phone
I Have owned 5 samsung alias phones. I am 20 now, and each one lasts about 6months. This is not due to engineering, but due the harsh reality of being a reckless young person who does not respect his gadgets.
However i have the solution. Craigslist. People get new phones everyday, and they sell the old ones. I always have a back up alias waiting for me at home. Last week i spilled a 44oz coke allover it. The speaker made me sound like i was rubbing sandpaper over the mic. Luckily i had a backup.
These sweet phones run for about 50 bucks on craigslist. Dont dare pay over 50 bucks.
These are great phones, i have owned several other smart phones with qwerty keyboards. This was the ultimate slim solution to bulky qwerty phone problem.

That's interesting, because i can't tell you how many times, I've dropped mine on concrete, tile floor, ect, and it still lived to tell the tale. When ever it falls the battery, battery cover, and the actual phone shoot out in three directions, and I usually have random strangers helping me find all the pieces. =P And, somehow, every time its fine.
Do you usually drop it? Or is it something more liquid? If it is dropped in water or something, I've heard that a lot of people have had success with shutting it off immediately, and letting it dry in a back of rice for a couple weeks (which any electronic device)... But I'm thinking if its something like soda, there isn't too much hope.

Yes this is a great phone. I'm on my second one. I had my first one for over a year. It lasted through all this time while in my pocket at work in a warehouse, many drunken nights (handled by friends), and was flipped in both directions often. Then it got totally soaked.
I then got another to replace it. The new one I have now doesn't seem as sturdy as the first, feels lighter. The screen is made of softer plastic and was cracked in my pocket while I was working. Some keys also have no "click" to them.
Even though my second one may have been a little more flimsy it is a very functional phone. I do like it very much and plan on finding another soon to replace the beat up one I have now.
