Exactly what devices can scan QR codes?

So I had a few shirts made for my podcast last week, and I put QR codes on the back that link to our site so that people can scan them. Most of my friends own Android devices, so I know they can scan them, but I am curious to know if other devices (besides Android) can scan/use them, or if QR codes are Android exclusive.

Thanks in advance!

You'd need a phone that has an autofocus camera. Phones that don't have that, like the original Pre can't scan QR codes reliably, but there was an app that was able to read a QR code, but it didn't recommend using the camera to scan it since it didn't have autofocus.

There's Barcode Scanner (it can scan QR codes) for Android and Red Laser for iOS, QR deCODEr for webOS.

Every major OS has at least one way to scan QR codes. With Android devices, it's baked in most of the time. iOS devices have apps (like Red Laser) to scan them. Here's an example BB app: appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/13962 and here's an exapmple of WP7: www.marketplacebrowser.com/266159/qrcode-reader/

Essentially, you can do it on 99% of smart phones.

I put a QR code on my business cards that links to an online PDF version of my resume. Makes it very easy for people.

Good luck with the shirts!

All Windows Phones updated to Mango (a.k.a. 7.5) have a QR code scanner built in (Bing Vision). It can do OCR, and if you're in the US, product recognition and barcode scanning too.

iOS devices can scan QR codes too but only though specific apps, this functionality is not built in on the operating system of apple devices...
