Durabbility.

Has any one noticed a major difference in durability between the original and the Lite? My original just randomly snapped of of the hinges. Has anyone had any issues with touch screen and buttons be less durable then the Lite too?

I still have my original DS that I bought the day they were released, and it still works fine. I also have two DS Lites, one I bought last December from colorware, and one white one I bought when they first came out. The white one got one of those cracks in the hinge, but it still works fine.

nope, i still have my original lite. the click sound it makes when you open the screen has gone away but thats not really a problem. I had a DSi for awhile though, and that was less durable than the lite

I've had two lites, the first one found the bottom of a garbage bin after i didn't notice it sitting under my old gaming chair. Needless to say it was flattened. But my other one has held up just fine. I've dropped it with no problems, and play it frequently.

Mine worked perfectly until I got rid of it (a couple of months ago). No problems for me...

I've had the original DS for about 3 years and it works amazingl except for the touch screen is messed up a bit but no other problems, any idea on how to fix the touch screen? It takes a really long time to calibrate and stuff.

Weird. My DS is still running strong. I have had it ever since they came out and have just recently changed the housing and the touch screen digitizer (to refresh the look and because my sister used a red pen on the touch screen). In my opinion it is by far one of the best devices I have had as far as durability.
