Question about
Doesn't Seem to Work on Windows
Alright, I know this drive is formatted for Macs straight from the factory so I used Mac's disk utility to format it in FAT32. I want to use it for both Windows and Mac machines. Everytime I plug it into my Windows machine it take a couple of minutes to recognize. Even after that I can't write anything to the drive. The disk just freezes up. Anyone have any advice?
What version of Windows are you running? If you're running Win 7, the drive utility built into the control panel will let you reformat "unrecognized" drives into NTFS or FAT32. Other than that, maybe try Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper!, both are free and I can't remember which or if both will let you do repartitions. If none of the above work, try doing an "Erase' in disk utility, selecting FAT32, then "Partition" with 1 partition in FAT32… 2-step process…
