Does your Galaxy Nexus get stuck in headset mode?

I got my Galaxy Nexus last week and just yesterday I decided to try out my headset w/ mic to make a call. Since then I have not been able to make phone calls or play music. I did some searching and found out that my phone is stuck in headset mode. So, I installed this app:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dwalkes....

I'm now able to make phone calls and play music sans headset. BUT, I have to toggle a switch. I don't feel like I should do this. I think it is a hardware issue and I'm planning to replace it. Has anyone else had this problem?

edit:
I should also mention that I did a factory reset of the phone and I am still experiencing this problem. That's why I think its hardware related.

I luckily have not had this problem. It does sound like a hardware problem, so hopefully you have the Verizon version so you can take it into a store and maybe they can fix/replace it for you.

It was indeed a hardware problem. I replaced the unit at Verizon this morning and I don't have this problem anymore. The toggleheadset2 app is a lifesaver for those who are not under warranty anymore! Hope it helps someone!

I had the same issue, my MIC simply would not work unless in speaker phone mode.. I just used a #11 Exacto blade to carefully pry the crap out of the MIC hole, now it works perfectly

is it possible the tip of a headphone broke off in there, or some conductive bit of trash is keeping the switch active?
