In my office I'm right on the edge of Edge/3G on AT@T. This causes my N1 all sorts of problems. WiFi stops working, dropped calls, can't even send a text. It's ridiculous, if Froyo doesn't fix some of these problems I'm going to Ebay with the N1 and back to the iphone.

Well . . . I think I've boiled down the issue on mine.

Initially, it got better reception than my iPhone. And in certain places, it does, even on 3G. But I work in a heavily-cemented bunker of a school and a lot of times, you just can't get 3G reception.

The problem the N1 has is in the switching from 3G to EDGE. It will sit there with Zero Bars on 3G, and it still works . . . sort of. If you go to somewhere with even worse, reception, it will hand off to Edge, and then you get 3 bars.

The amazing thing is, even when it's sitting on zero bars on 3G, it can still make calls just fine, very clear.

Then when the phone decides to switch back from Edge to 3G, it'll take some time, and it sits there with NO service while it shakes hands with AT&T's 3G network.

FroYo should fix some of this, but if it doesn't get much better I'm selling it and going to Sprint/Evo

In my tests it's comparable to the iPhone 3G on an EDGE connection: In other words, with the iPhone set to EDGE only, it has good and reliable reception; so does the Nexus One.

I have only tested the Nexus One with EDGE because the version I have doesn't work with AT&T 3G.
