Question about
Does Google TV do local content?
From everything I've seen, the Revue seems solely focused on streaming online content. This isn't terrible for me since all my stuff is in Google already, but I also have a ton of local content that I'm currently streaming to my Boxee Box, the current king of local content.
Does Google TV have a method of doing this that isn't half-baked?

Androinica has an article from last year regarding streaming locally to a Revue from a Windows 7 PC:

I'm in the same boat. All our music and movies live on a Linux server and can be accessed over SMB. If Google TV can handle that, it would make the new low price even more tempting.

last time I checked I don't think the Revue supported any form of UPnP/DLNA. One thing to try would be using a media distribution package that takes advantage of a web page and then just accessing the content via the built in browser.

I don't know too much about Google TV, but because sales have been low and returns have been high, Logitech dropped the price of their Revue to $99! I think it should have been this price all along so it can properly compete with Roku, Apple TV, etc. , but I still don't think I will buy one if so many people are that disappointed in Google TV to return it in mass numbers.

The Google TV does not support the extensive file format capabilities that your Boxee Box can. It cannot playback some files via DLNA/UPnP nor does it have SMB support. It can play back some file formats via USB flash/HDD...
