Question about
Does anyone know if U.S. Android phones have multi-language support (dictionary, keyboard and output) like the iPhone?
I'm currently using English, Chinese and French on iPod touch and I'm thinking about putting my money on Android (especially the Incredible).
If there is multi-language support, is it through an official OS release, a hacked ROM, or the Android Market?
Thanks for your help as I can't seem to find any answers?

I currenty have the incredible. The OS has English and Spanish i think (i'll check). You can download keyboards for different languages (i know there is French but I'll check for Chinese) but I don't know about having the entire OS in those languages .

If you get one with Sense UI (HTC) then you will have a built in keyboard with lots of languages; I counted 8, English and French amongst them. For chinese I would have to install a different keyboard, which are available to my knowledge.
(information based on Android 1.5 on HTC Hero Europe, no clue whether HTC is fragmenting their Sense UI as well as Android itself. I'll let you know once I get the update to 2.1 ;))
