Does anyone know how the V-Moda Crossfade LPs compare to Pioneer's HDJ-2000s, with regards to comfort, durability, sound quality, isolation (esp.
when actually DJing with them in front of club monitors), etc? Comfort and durability are something both seem to boast heavily (though I do hear that the Pioneers are built like a tank)...

Great question, I am the CEO of V-MODA, resident DJ of several big clubs and have toured around the world designing these for four years. The Pioneer HDJ-2000 WAS my favorite headphone and we seriously benchmarked our sound and durability vs them, and we had to benchmark as well vs Beats from a consumer side. Our mids and his are very similar to HDJ-2000 on an analysis curve, although our goal was to have >3-4dB more bass you could feel and an overall much fuller soundstage than 2000s.
Isolation is comparable, but the Crossfade LP will seem like it isolates more because of the soundstage we created. More and more of the top DJs are using Crossfade LP, its remarkable how many have switched. Recently I tried to give some out to DJs at Pacha Ibiza yet they already were all using Crossfades!!
Durability-wise we have broken ZERO Crossfade LPs on tour and in the 8 months beta + they've been out we've only had 3 total defects thus far. Not having the swivel mechanism and minimal plastic parts (NONE on the headband) decreases chances of breaking exponentially. WE also have a lifetime replay replacement discount for 50% off for ANY problem even if you run over them with your car.
