Does anyone have trouble with the PS3 Dual Shock controllers holding a charge?

Basically, what happens is that I constantly have to have my controllers connected to the PS3 via the mini USB cable. Once I unplug them, they seem to last about an hour before they die and are required to be plugged in again. I've had this particular controller for about 1.5 - 2 years or so.

It's not very desirable, to say the least!

Mine are fine. However my PS3 is ~1 year old.

I'm still using the six axis controller that came with mine when I bought it about 3 and a half years ago. I use it and recharge it constantly and it still seems to keep a long lasting charge even now. So it sounds like you may have bad batteries in yours.

no problem here on either dual shock or sixaxis... dumb question but could there be a short in the wire? try a different wire to ensure they're constantly being charged.

i don't even charge mine through the ps3 cause you can only charge when the system is on... i charge through the usb on the front of my dvr, which is always on ;)
