It's possible, though I think it'll take a while.

I kind of have the feeling that Gingerbread won't support the first-generation Snapdragon devices, but anything's possible. If not, it'll probably be hacked on anyway ;-)

This issue is something that is turning me away from Android. I love the OS and all but when I buy the phone I want to be sure that I will get the current software updates. With any Android phone on Verizon you don't know that for sure.

That's due to the crap that HTC and Verizon put on the phone over Android. Now if Verizon would get a Nexus S I would love to have that. The pure and always updated Google phone. But I bet they won't. Verizon has nothing to gain by getting the Nexus S in its lineup of Android phones.

I personally am going back to iOS when I'm eligible for an upgrade.

Just today this was leaked and speedily compiled: www.androidcentral.com/test-gingerbread-rom-leaks-...

After this tease: www.androidcentral.com/htc-confirms-android-23-gin...

So things suddenly look hopeful for an official Gingerbread release for Incredible.
