Do you think the pricing on the Motoactv is justified compared to other products out there?

With a ton of similar products on the market do you think the MotoActv is priced right or is too high? There are devices like the FitBit that are pedometers on steroids but then there are devices like the Nike+ Watch that are more in line with the Actv. Depending on your activity level I guess will dictate how much you want out of one of these devices but I just feel at $250 it's a bit too high, I think if they came in right at $200 they'd be more reasonable.

It's priced around the same price as other GPS watches, but this has a ton more features, built-in heart-rate monitor when using the headphones so you don't need to strap on a heart-rate monitor to your chest (super uncomfortable), WiFi syncing, music player, and integration with your cellphone to forward calls and texts to the screen. I don't think the aim of this device is to compete with the like of the FitBit, since that's a glorified pedometer (passive monitoring device), but the MotoActv is more of an active fitness device that's not unlike the Nike+ SportWatch or the Garmin GPS watches.

I think it is too much money.
You can get a fitbit for $80 now and if you already have a music player, why do you need another one?
Because this one goes on your wrist?

I spent about the same for my Garmin 405 and it doesn't have as many features as this does. I'm looking forward to checking this out next month. Might just replace my two devices (garmin and nano) with one.

I think that that $99 I spent on a fitbit ultra was too high - however I absolutely love it, and can now justify it. With that said, there is no way in heck that I would pay $250 for a Motoactv. I think $150 would be a better price, but even then, you are out pricing most of the market place

300 USD is not reasonable for that. I would rather go for Iphone with a strap and wireless earphones.

Fitbit is already considered overpriced, so anything above that would be a foolish move.

I'm a new runner (did the C25K) but after comparing what this unit can do with other GPS units I felt it was a good choice. I also have an iPhone and have used RunKeeper and iMapMyRun+. I'm really looking forward to the headphones that will allow you to get your heart rate. I do think the battery life is a little low. I would also like to able to sync with any WiFi (you have to have already setup on your computer). IOS compatibly would be nice as well but I knew that going into it. There is also an excellent review at www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/11/motorola-motoactv-in-d... (I have no affiliations with the site, just found it helpful in making my decision). Lastly mine is the 8gb unit, form what I read there are people having issues with the 16gb.
