Do you think the iPhone 3G / iPhone 3GS analogy holds true for the iPhone 4S?
iPhone 3G : iPhone 3GS :: iPhone 4 : iPhone 4S
If so, why or why not?
It does: people were expecting a brand new iPhone with a completely different design, and instead got a faster version of the previous model.
It doesn't: the new faster version is indeed significantly faster, so that might offset some of the disappointment. I know my wife can't wait to get hers and trade up from her 3GS.
I think the main problem with this release is that it's been longer between revisions than previous phones. I think for that wait, people were expecting more than a spec increase and were looking for something brand new. Whether it's new or not doesn't matter when the public looks at the new phone and sees the same design, sadly.

Siri is interesting but I don't use the voice features that much on Android so not sure how much I would use it with the 4S. It is still a little strange to talk to the phone especially in a public place.
