Question about

Do you think that the HTC Desire will eventually get voice recognition like the Nexus One?

Doesn't this and the noise cancellation make the Nexus One a better product?

Hi, you can easily enable voice search / speech to text on the Desire.

Just follow the instructions here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663608

It depends. I'm not sure how much Google cares about differentiating the N1 from the Desire. If I had to bet, I would say that the Desire will get voice recognition when/if it comes to a major US carrier.

Desire vs N1: The general consensus seems to be that in most cases the Desire has "less expensive" parts. No dual mic, no trackball, no touch buttons, a weaker form factor, camera quality trade-off (least for some side-by-side tests) etc. However, the Desire does have slightly more RAM and is running HTC Sense.

Honestly, most of these differences don't matter very much, if at all. Certainly, the second mic makes calls clearer and voice recognition more effective but it is by no means THE deciding feature.
