Do you need to switch between "TV" or "Video 2" when using Airplay among other things.

I know that our DVD automatically switches when a disc is put in, is that the case with Airplay?

I don't believe the Apple TV supports HDMI-CEC (which is what you're referring to, though there are also a few similar manufacturer-specific methods to do the same).
