Question about

Do you have to buy the Kindle Fire with your Amazon account?

In the presentation, they said that the Kindle Fire has your name on it out of the box - I may have misunderstood, but it seems you don't have to enter any login/password, like you do on regular android devices.

Since I live in Brazil, and the only way for me to get the Kindle Fire is through eBay, I wonder if I can change this to have my own content on it?

That's specially important because Amazon said it has no plans to release the Fire outside of the US (not even in Europe or Japan). I still want one, even though I'll pay extra on eBay and have no Amazon Prime, Video, MP3, etc., whatsoever!

Thanks!

If the Kindle Fire has settings similar to the Kindle, you are supposed to buy it through your Amazon account for personalization's sake, but you can go in the settings and deregister it from the account it's attached to and stick it on to your account.

Since I don't know what kinds of settings the Fire will have, I'm not able to answer this questions with 100% surety, but if they keep their tablet software close to their Kindle software, you should be able to do this no problem.

As others have said, even people who buy it on Amazon might be buying it as a gift for others, and Amazon will almost certainly sell it through retail stores (eventually anyway, once they get ahead of orders), so people will often buy it with only a credit card. There has to be a way to configure it after purchase.
