Do you ever turn your Tablet off? If so, for how long?

I realize that you might turn it off if it freezes or if it needs to be rebooted. But does anyone turn it off for long periods, like days or weeks? Is it not better to just leave it in stand-by mode?

Some apps are unstable and stop crashing only after a reboot. Otherwise, there is no point in turning it off.

I've never turned my Galaxy Tab 7" off for longer than 2 minutes. I've soft rebooted a few times when certain apps froze, or when I got an update to the OS. The 2 minutes was from when i needed to replace the SIM card and the swap in a new MicroSD.

There has got to be someone out there who turns their tablet off regularly and they surely have a good reason.

When I used to have Archos 70 I never switch it off I even left it with wi-fi on and it lasted for at least 2 days. With my Huawei Mediapad I don't have this advantage anymore, I turn it off or else the battery will die.

In the year+ that I have had an iPad I haven't turned it off other than when it powered off due to a dead battery when I was traveling for a while and wasn't keeping on top of charging.

Nope, never turn my iPad off. If I'm going away for quite a bit (eg. a week), I just set it to Airplane mode. The stand-by runtime on iPads is so great that you don't have to worry about it.

I never turn my iPad off honestly. It can go a week or more just sitting there. If my daughter has been playing with it and I haven't been around it might run out of battery but otherwise its normally just sleeping if it isn't being used.

The only time I turn it off is if I'm on an airplane or like others I've got some issue with software, and then I'm more likely to simply reboot it than turn it off/on (i.e. press and hold both power and front button to force a reset).

I have only turned it off while on an airplane, so not to incur the wrath of the flight attendants, otherwise, I never turn it off. If you leave it in standby mode, it will stay alive, sipping battery juice, but will eventually run out.
You may want to turn it off to close apps running in the background; however, you can close those apps by opening settings, applications, select the app, and press the "Force Close" button.
