Do I need to reactive iTunes after replacing the HDD in a Mac and restoring from Time Machine?
I am about to replace the storage in my MacBook Air and plan to simply restore all my data from a Time Machine backup. Will I need to deactivate my iTunes account before I do the restore to avoid using another activation post restore?

Yes, you do need to de-activate your iTunes account, iTunes does its activation I believe on different things from OS version, MAC address, IP address, Account details etc. So you will need to re-activate on your Air. Also which model is your air, the 2009+ models have the flash board mounted, you need to be very careful, because if the controller for what ever reason doesn't like your knew set of HDD then you have many many issues.
