Did your HP TouchPad order get canceled? What are you going to do now?

It looks like onSale, one of the primary distributors selling HP TouchPads for $99 through Amazon this weekend is canceling a number of orders.

Ordered through the same onSale sale on Amazon and mine *just* got cancelled. My girlfriend tried to pick up one through Barnes & Noble on Sunday but they cancelled hers as well.

Was hoping to pick up one for my mom, will have to try again when HP gets it back in stock.

i'm giving up. i've lost hours of sleep trying to get one and have come to the conclusion that i'm not destined to have a touchpad.

I got one off Amazon, but if you didn't I wouldn't worry about it. Tons of people bought these with flipping them on eBay in mind. There is already around 3k for sale on the site and most people have not even got their shipments in yet. What do you think is going to happen? The prices they sell for will tank quickly as the supply greatly outpaces demand as the hype wears off. Wouldn't be surprised if they start to sell for little over cost as people just try and get their money back.

No, mine was not cancelled, but I got this email from HP yesterday:

Thank you for your purchase of the HP TouchPad. Due to the overwhelming demand for this product as a result of the significant price reduction, we were unable to ship your recent order with our usual promptness. We expect that all units will be shipped by Thursday August 25, 2011 and you will receive delivery of your TouchPad on the appropriate date after that given the shipping option you selected at the time you placed your order.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Be the first to know when your unit ships by clicking here for your order status.

We hope you will give us at the HP Home & Home Office Store the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Pretty good customer service I think, I can only imagine how frantic their packing/distribution warehouses are right now. Glad to see it's still on its way though!

I was able to snag a 32gb Touchpad directly from HP Saturday night. It was delivered today with the standard free shipping. I was also able to get the Touchstone, folio case, and wireless keyboard from my local Office Depot through that huge sale they had yesterday. Got lucky!

i have not, yet, received this email. but onSale is who i ordered with...i sure hope i'm a lucky one since i haven't been emailed yet...

on a side note, it's frustrating to know that these devices are out there, at the alleged prices, but best buy isn't selling them, at least the ones here are not. i got their employees at 2 stores to acknowledge having stacks of them in the stockroom.

Not from onSale, but I placed a couple ordered from B&N when they had them in stock. My orders were subsequently cancelled...

Hoping to find one from HP's site at some point

My order was canceled. I received the above email from Amazon saying that I wasn't charged, but my bank sure thinks I was. I emailed onSale and still haven't received a reply. When I called to ask what incentive I had to ever do business again with them the representative was at a loss for words... they'll be at a loss of my money from now on. Who doesn't have a system in place to keep track of orders an inventory? That's absolutely insane.

My OnSale cancellation notice just came. I think people are being too harsh, not every retailer is prepared to have 100's of thousands of people try to purchase at a time, look what happened to HP! I'm not happy about it, still hoping my last order goes through.

Yup. Just received an Email about an hour ago..

I'd probably buy one if there was one available somewhere. It's more of an impulse buy than anything else. Was going to give it to my Mom.. Oh well. Mom won't get a surprise TouchPad..

Yup, order disappeared from Amazon and I got an e-mail. Waiting to hear from Data Vision but I assume i'll experience the same fate. Most likely I'll try one more time once HP.com gets more in stock like @BrynaAtHP has been saying on Twitter.

Yup, I got canceled. Fortunately, this was the second one I ordered. I got the first from Vanns.com. I'd ordered that one as soon as I'd heard the price would drop to $99, figuring I'd be able to get them to refund me the difference. That worked - they refunded my money, and the TouchPad is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I ordered one on BestBuy.com and one on HP.com. Not only did neither get cancelled, they both shipped! I don't want 2! HP charged me $399, and I can't get a live person on the phone to refund the difference. What a pain in the butt. Oh well, I'll probably return the HP one or sell it. Maybe gift it.

I just got the cancellation email from OnSale as expected. The Barnes and Noble cancellations apparently went out yesterday,

I'm probably going to wait for HP to put them back on their site (if that happens).

Yes, my order got cancelled. I just asked a question on here about filtering out non-Amazon sellers because I'm really tired of dealing with lousy companies that use Amazon to sell products.

I ordered 2 16GB ones within 5 minutes of each other as two separate orders - the first one I ordered got cancelled but the second one shipped yesterday.

Hint to contacting onSale: go to www.macmall.com and call macmall up... give them your amazon order # without telling them its from onsale and they will treat it like a macmall order. they give you the tracking number and their internal order number. took me 5 min on hold only, unlike with onsale which took 1.5 hours and they hung up.

My order for one Touchpad (8/21) was canceled today. I've been trying to find another one, but the prices are all much higher than the one I purchased through OnSale at Amazon.

There's a pretty huge thread similar to this one on the Amazon discussion site, and one poster suggested writing the Better Business Bureau about OnSale using this link:
www.la.bbb.org/ComplaintDetail.aspx?CompanyID=1307...

Not really sure what Amazon's responsibility is in all this, but an argument could be made that if it says "IN STOCK" on their site, then they should fill that order.

I already had one but my order for three more (for relatives in Philippines) was cancelled. It didn't affect me personally since I already have one but my aunt in Philippines is apparently pissed off at my mom because she's not going to get a FREE TouchPad now. I had to forward the cancellation email to my mom just so she can prove it to her sister...pathetic family drama...
