Dead receiver

I have two of these mice. Excellent all around. The receiver has died on my second one. Per the forums, this is an issue which is usually resolved by purchasing a replacement receiver.

How do you switch a receiver to link to another mouse? I have two vx 450s, one of which is giving me problems. I'd like to switch receivers to see if the problem is the mouse or the receiver.

There is a connection utility that comes with the software. Try looking in your start menu. I have two also, and it was the receiver.

Thank you, looks like it's a dead receiver on mine as well.

Replacement is $10 from Logitech website if I recall correctly. FYI, potential buyers, even with this problem, this is a fantastic laptop mouse.

Wow. I've never heard of that happening before. I have three of these mice for my workstations, and have only had minor cosmetic issues. Sorry to hear that the receiver in yours bricked.

You're not using rechargeable batteries in the mouse are you? Sometimes the 1.2 volts you get from those isn't enough to properly power the device. Given that this is a techie site, power issues probably occurred to you to check before replacing the receiver, but I just thought I'd through that out there.

Thanks, but no, standard batteries. There are some forum post out there which indicate this is a slight problem for some. We have several of these mice at work with no issues.
