Data on Droid 2 Global on SIM While Traveling Internationally?

I am planning on traveling internationally (to Ireland) and would like to use my Droid 2 Global overseas using a pre-paid SIM card. I have received the unlock code from Verizon, so I should be all set. However, I would like to attach data service as well. I checked with O2 and it looks like I can tack on a pre-paid data plan. I was wondering if the Droid 2 will be capable of using that capability through the Global SIM? Has anyone had any experience with this device overseas in this way?
