Could the subwoofer harm my ASUS VE247H monitor or my Verbatim External Desktop Hard Drive since they are so close to it?

Hard drives and vibrations are a bad combo. If it doesn't harm it, it will at least kill the performance. Some studies came out last year revealing the effects of even minor vibrations on drive performance.

LCD monitors I don't think will have a problem, but putting any speaker that wasn't properly shielded near a CRT monitor can cause problems.

I'd be more concerned about the external drive than the monitor since it has more moving parts than the monitor does.

Thank you very much for your feedback! The wire which connects my external HDD with the PC tower is very short. Therefore, between the HDD and subwoofer (which I had to put between the LCD monitor and the PC tower since I have no other place for it) there is NOW only about 10 cm... The distance before was only 2 cm. However, I doubt it will make much difference.
