Compatible Microphones
I'm interest in getting an external stereo microphone for my Zi8. The Sony ECMMS907 has good reviews on Amazon but it needs plug in power. Does the Zi8 support this? If not, does anyone have a recommendation for a microphone?
I'm not having much luck with the ECM-DS30P, but I might be doing something wrong...

Make sure that it's a dynamic microphone and not a condenser mic. The main difference between the two types as it relates to the Zi8 is that a condenser need an external power source and dynamics don't. The Zi8 can't power anything other than a dynamic mic.
