Charging via USB?

Can it be charged via USB or do you have to plug it into a wall socket? How about a car charger?

I believe you have to use the sony power adapter, no charging through USB. I'm tempted by the price and small size of this device, but it's lacking way too many things for the price. No USB charge, no wireless, dinky screen, no expandable storage. $100 buys a lot more ebook from any of the competitors. I feel greedy, but $125 would be my impulse buy figure for me. They should sell these things at a loss just to clobber Amazon, and then make it back in book sales.

Turns out I'm wrong, it does support charging from USB but only from PC?!?! I'm not sure what that means.

If it's the same as the PRS-700 (which it should be) you can get a PSP USB cable with two ends - a mini-USB and a round, yellow power 'male' adaptor. You can use the mini-USB for connecting to a PC and charging from the PC and the yellow power plug to charge from a non-PC USB power source (e.g. a car charger or mains adaptor).

It will charge from anything that offers a USB charge - i.e. 5V @ 500ma. The Blackberry USB chargers will work fine, as will Apple iPod USB chargers, etc.
