In my haste to get out the door in the morning, sometimes I inadvertently grab the wrong charger for my various devices. One of them poses a particular problem -- the charger for my Novatel MiFi. It seems like that unless I specifically grab its charger, that trying to charge it with any other plug that accepts a USB -> micro-USB cable is fruitless as the thing ultimately ends up dying.
Output on the Novatel charging brick is 5V @ 1.05A. I guess the issue is that all the other charging bricks I use have a lower output, something like 5V @ 550mA or so. Kind of annoying to discover I grabbed the wrong charger sometimes!
What are your strategies for solving the charging issue when you have multiple devices that have different charging requirements?
Question about
Charging issues with Novatel MiFi 2200?
I have generally been able to rely on a cigarette/AC power adapter to keep several devices charged. However, recently I was attempting to keep a 2200 alive during a long car trip - had a converter keeping a laptop and iPod going, but the MiFi didn't like that at all. The next day, it would only flash red and not hold a charge. Thanks to another thread on gdgt, I noticed a tiny Hard Reset hole on the back. Got my device up and running again, but I won't try to charge it on anything other than the adapter it came with.
