Charging

Does anyone else have the same problem I do with charging this thing? The problem seems to get worse and worse the longer that I own the product. Essentials when I place the house on it's charger, it doesn't connect. And I will drop it on, and place it on and wiggle it around. I usually end up fiddling with the thing for 10 mins or so every time I want to charge my mouse. VERY frustrating. Before this I had the Cordless MX Duo and I had the same problem with that.

Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Yup, used to have a similar logitech wireless mouse at work. Would take an absurd amount of time to get it just right on the charger. Slightest movement would be enough to stop charging. Had to resort to a wired mouse many times due to not charging over night.

Nope - i have had mine since summer 2005, works just fine. I only charge it when it is completely dead.

I have this problem too, usually I just scrape the contacts a bit and it seems to work. also in the past I've had to jam a bit of folded paper into the charger to hold the mouse in the right position

Yup, I have this mouse and continually have to fiddle with the placement of the mouse in the charging base to get it to actually charge. I find that if I rock the mouse left to right, I can normally get it to start charging.

*nods* Sounds like the issue I had with it. However, mine was immediately identifiable as to the reason. The contacts on the bottom would rust/corrode. I used to be able to take a pencil eraser to it and that would clear it up... however, for the past year or so I've had to use a thumbtack, as otherwise there still wouldn't be enough of a contact.

Sounds a lot like the issue I had. Then I dropped on the floor twice (accidentally) and I bought a MX 1100 to replace it :)

The MX1100 is sadly a downgrade, yes the contacts can erode, it's very easily solved by cleaning them, a good rub with a wet cloth is usually enough, though if it's really bad some solvent like acetone (nail polish remover) does the trick.

Really weird that people endlessly complain about the charging issues when the fix is simply to clean it, not overly complicated maintenance.

Yep, I had exactly the same problem. I ended up replacing it with the MX Revolution which has no such problems even after a year.

Maintenance, in the form of keeping the contacts clean.

I've owned LOTS of cordless mice from Logitech and whenever that problem arises it's because dust and dirt have built up over time.
