change widget opacity?

I posted this on the Android 1.6 page too but I wanted to ask the question here as well:

Okay I think I'm going crazy. I could have sworn that there was a way to change the opacity of the widgets that you have on your homepage. I vividly remember doing this for the calendar widget and I want to do it for the power widget. All widgets that I put on my homepage are opaque now.

How do I do it?

I don't think there has ever been a way to change the opacity of a widget because the widget backgound is an image with the opacity set before it is uploaded to the market.

is it possibly a setting that was in OpenHome? I had that for a couple of days.

No I just redownloaded it, and i can't find any setting like that, i could be wrong and it could be hidden somewhere in an app, but i have not seen one, and my understanding of creating apps is that it is dependent on the dev.

Maybe it was just a really tantalizing dream. I'm still looking for where the heck I did it and at this point I am pretty sure I'm insane.

It might have been in a widget settings menu or something like that, i am sure somehow you can program a way to change the opacity when you develop an app but as for system wide change that has not made its way in nor do i see it ever just because of the complexity of it all, maybe they will one day.

Actually are you talking about the text underneath the widget or icon because i believe you can change that to a certain degree but not the actual background to a widget.
