Can you stream podcasts directly from itunes with this version of the device?

Looking at the screenshots online it does not appear to have the same menu options as the original Apple TV.

Yes, it's a sub-menu under "computer." You can also mark podcasts as favorites and listen to them directly under the "internet" menu.
