Can two people share an Apple ID with different phones in iOS 6?

Just throwing a question out there for the Beta testers...

I noticed Apple mentioned today that they are merging Apple IDs and phone numbers in iOS 6.

I see this a potential problem for me as my wife and I use the same apple ID on both of our phones. If iOS merges both numbers to the one ID, I don't want to start seeing her messages on my phone and vice versa. I wonder if this will effect our FaceTime calls as well. Can you call and answer on the same account?

Unfortunately, I'm thinking this may be a way for Apple to force users in my situation into using multiple accounts (and having to repurchase our shared apps).

Apple officially says no to sharing an Apple ID as there is a lot of personal information tied to it. Thus each person should have their own, however this article was posted about a year ago to sort of sidestep the issue

It should still be relatively true for iOS6

My understanding is that you "can" add a phone number to a device which doesn't have one (iPad, iPod touch) but you don't necessarily have to. Once I install the betas hopefully I can give a more solid answer.
