I wasn't using my "Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000" for about a month for two reasons. The first is that I was using my laptop at home and using a regular USB mouse and the second was that the batteries died. This week I replaced the two AAA batteries and couldn't use the mouse even though it was visible as a bluetooth device. So I deleted the mouse from the Bluetooth Devices and tried to reconnect it all over again, thinking that this would resolve the problem. Now when I try to discover the mouse as a bluetooth device while pressing the discover button it still doesn't show on my laptop. I've been to all the forums including those at Microsoft's support website but the only thing I see are the same posts posted all over the internet in all the forums. The questions and answers are the same character by character and even the typos are the same (I am guessing this is not a bug, this is a feature). To make a long story short I did everything I could find in the forums and nothing changed.
The mouse comes with no drivers and is supposed to work with any bluetooth adapter. My bluetooth adapter is built-in and my laptop is an HP Pavilion dv5-1060.
BTW, this is not the first time that this mouse has caused me problems. It has an erratic behavior and I am not the only one having these problems from what I've seen in all the forums but with no solution to my problem. Microsoft on the other hand doesn't seem concerned. I like to use the mouse for its design and lack of an extra dongle/adapter but this would probably be my last Microsoft hardware.
Does anyone have a solution?
