I've got a 27 inch iMac that I'd like to use for gaming. Can I connect my xbox or ps3 to the imac?
I live in the UK so I need recommendations on connectors that I can buy either from Amazon(uk) or local retail stores.
Thanks in advance!

Can I play ps3 or xbox 360 games on my imac screen?
According to the Apple support page for the iMac, yes, although there are limitations depending on the model of console and iMac you have. This applies to the models mentioned in the link.

PS3 has HDMI out which you can connect to the iMac 27-inch using an HDMI to MiniDisplayPort converter. like this one:
www.atlona.com/Atlona-HDMI-to-Mini-DisplayPort-Con...
You'll need to check if this is available through Amazon UK as I am in the US. You may be able to find it on other sites as well. There may be other brands/models; this was the first one I found. It is important for whatever you find to be HDMI to MinDisplayPort specifically in the specifications. MiniDisplayPort to HDMI will not work.
For the XBOX 360, if it has HDMI out the above applies. If it is the original XBOX or an XBOX 360 with no HDMI however, I have not been able to find an option.
Ultimately however your best bet is to connect it to a true display, either a computer monitor or TV as these are both designed specifically to accept input from outside sources, while the iMac is a computer designed to output signal primarily with video input as a secondary option.
Sorry I don't have better news.
