Even rooted, the current stock software doesn't run. You need at least a Gingerbread build. Flash the EE03 build and it should work no problem. I have this build on my phone and Netflix runs like a dream.

Yes, but you'll need a rooted phone and need to edit some system files, which can be dangerous.

Now the full version is available over at XDA developers. Save the apk to you sd card, enable unknown sources in settings/applications, and install!

It is possible to get it running on the phone, however I could never get the videos to actually play, it would still give me an error that said unsupported, although getting the application to install and work is fairly easy. If you want to use Leaky Gingerbread rom, then it's possible to get it working, but until many more of the bugs are worked out, I personally decided to stay away from 2.3. Good news is it works well on Gingerbread, and the Samsung is bringing 2.3 to the Epic soon, maybe even by the end of this month, and it appears Netflix will support all Galaxy S phones as soon as they have 2.3. So you may not have to long of a wait for Official Netflix support.
