Can hand writing in Notes application be searched?

I've read in several Flyer reviews that hand writing cannot be searched on the Flyer. But reviews do talk about how the Notes application has a tight and good integration with Evernote. No one ever then goes on to try taking notes with Notes, having the document sync to Evernote, and then doing a search on the Flyer from the native Evernote application, which claims that it can search handwriting in documents.

So, has anyone here tried that? And why haven't any reviewers tried what seems like the most obvious thing? :-)#

Yes, you can search your handwritten notes on the Flyer. The Notes app, which is the only app in which you can write in digital ink, uses Evernote for it's backend storage. Ink notes essentially end up as image files from Evernote's perspective and Evernote does HWR of images. You will want to set up an Evernote account, and I recommend installing the Evernote app on the Flyer and search within that app. You can also search for your notes within Evernote in any of their apps or their web app.

According to Liliputing's review, it doesn't have any sort of handwriting recognition, so your notes aren't searchable. Sadness! (Maybe this will change in a future software update?)

Via Liliputing: "The good news is that since the only way to draw or write on the screen is by using the pen, you can place your palm on the screen as you write. Scribble, Evernote, or other applications might bring up context menus, but you won’t cause a big palm-shaped smudge in the picture. The bad news is that there’s no handwriting recognition support, so the tablet won’t turn your scribbles into searchable text."

As I've found out with my EVO View, you can't search hand written notes. But my way around this is to type (or speak) a title and search usually comes up with my relevant notes. I also link notes to calendar events so as long as I can find a context, I usually find what I'm looking for.
