Can anyone comment on personal experience with some of these 2Bay pre-built NAS?

I was originally planning on building an unRaid server but I'm realizing that the need for TB's of drive space is not a necessity for me right now. So I was looking at some of the pre-built boxes by Synology or Buffalo but I know they tend to really not perform all that well. I've read the reviews at SmallNetBuilder and the reviews of the DS211j aren't glowing but they're not terrible either. I can deal with RAID1 write of 50 and read of 80 since my total I/O will not be that much.

The one main reason I'm leaning towards the Synology over the LinkStation is that SNB commented on the Linkstation having the OS pre-loaded onto the included drive which makes it harder to upgrade that drive.

The other big factor with the Synology is for the cos of the box plus two 2TB drives is still pretty reasonable whereas a Drobo or Qnap will cost a significant amount more.

Can anyone comment on use with any of the pre-built NAS boxes?
