Camera taking a long time to load with iOS 4 on the 3GS?

Anyone else experiencing this? I think once the camera has loaded, it actually snaps photos faster than iPhone OS 3. However, opening the camera lags for me. Just now, it was about 3 - 4 seconds before it was ready to take a photo. If I close it and open it again, it's another 3 - 4 seconds.

I have the exact same problem! The camera takes forever to start up, but once it does, snapping pictures is much faster. I hope this is addressed.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I'll open the camera app and there is a good 5-10 second lag until the shutter graphic opens. Once open, the actual act of taking a picture is much snappier but more times than not, by the time the lag is over i've grown tired of waiting and my desire to take the picture is gone. It's a real shame. Hope it gets worked out.

The "slow to open" phenomenon is definitely happening for me. It takes roughly 5 seconds on my 3GS, before the camera iris opens to indicate it's ready to take a picture. Very frustrating, as I watch the "moment" pass...

I wonder if the number of pictures in the camera roll is a factor?

The shutter snap animation is far quicker now, which is nice.
