Question about
Buzzing/Humming noise
Sometimes this box will emit a buzzing or humming noise when its busy spinning up the drives. I have to adjust the faceplate to the left or right or pull it down tighter to get it to stop... This is one of the only issues I have with this device... Has anyone else experienced this or know of a way to fix it permanently?
I have this NAS, and I don't experience the vibration you describe. Obviously, it's something about the front cover. Likely a loose fit. Try setting the unit on something a little softer, like some non-skid shelf liner, and see if that absorbs enough vibration to quiet the front cover.
You could try removing the front cover and applying some small pieces of masking tape to the very front face of the box edge. The trick is to trial and error it to make the front cover fit snugly, thus damping the vibration. You might need to apply it a couple of layers thick, and maybe in a couple of spots.
FWIW, I like the blue tape 'cause it comes off easier and leaves less goo.

Yep. I have the exact same problem. It's not too bad though. We have so many things buzzing and humming in our house I often don't notice it.

This may be the drives themselves. Depending on the drives you use, some will vibrate more than others. I had this happen with Western Digital drives, but stopped when I used Seagate drives.
Tape will tighten up the unit, but make sure you do not cover any air intakes.
