Question about
Broadcom cards?
I keep seeing these on eBay: "HP Mini 1000 110 BroadCom BCM70010 BCM70012 HD Decoder". Anyone knows anything about these? I ask them if they have any instructions and it seems no one knows who ever sells them as they're mostly from Asia.
They're mini-pci cards used to supplement the integrated graphics when decoding HD video if my mind serves me right. Never had any experience with them though so I can't help you more I'm afraid!

Finally found a much helpful source of what it is and what it can do for this netbook, and you're right. I'll have to try it out since they do sell them fairly cheap. Only thing I'll have trouble with is opening my netbook.

These cards are not just great for netbooks - but look like they could bring true HD to several other devices including the apple TV

I don't know if they have mini-PCIe slots or have driver support for them but yes, these seem to allow more devices to have HD ability if more companies start utilizing them more.

I'm still testing it out but since HP and Compaq are the same thing, I found this driver info:
h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?...
will let you know the report of its quality or if it even works.
UPDATE:yes it works! Video files are running smoothly!
