Best user experience on Windows Phone 7?

I've been living in South Korea for six months and there were no Windows phones on sale here at that time, so I ended up going with a cheaper phone in the Galaxy line (no carrier subsidies here).

The experience has been horrible.

There have been random resets and I loathe the memory management for onboard/SD card apps. The carrier has me stuck at 2.2, so I'm not even able to update some of Google's own apps because of fragmentation. As there is no unified experience, which was a favorite thing about my last three US phones (iPhone/3G/4) I'm curious as to what the best current or announced WP7 handset is. It would be easy to get another iWhatever, but I try to be open minded.

From what I've heard the Samsung Focus S(gdgt.com/samsung/focus/s/) is the top of the line WP7. It also has a 9.2 review which puts it on average with iPhone 4S at 9.1.
