Best point and shoot cameras?

Looking to replace a several year old Canon that served me well. Don't want to spend more than $300 and prefer to spend between $200-$250.

At that price range, check out the Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS, Barry:

"If it ain't broke..." I stand behind Canon point and shoot models because mine looks like it's been through World War III and it's still kicking. My recommendation? A Canon ELPH 300 HS. There's a 500 model too but the 300 has some excellent features and is a bit more affordable. Newegg has it listed for $225 today. Good luck!

I have the powershot SD1100 IS, and the Canon Rebel T3i. I would stay with Canon if you can. unfortunately my sd1100 is a ton of money on ebay right now for a new one, so not sure as to what exact model you should look into , but stick with Canon if you can, but if you stray, i hear that Nikon makes em good too. good luck!
