Backlight Issues

Has anyone had issues with back-light bleeding on the left hand side of the monitor. I've read many different theories and its really not an issues when doing normal every day task. I was just curious if this was something that could get worse and if I should be contacting Dell for a replacement or just leaving it be because they'll all come back like that and just enjoy the many great things about the monitor

I actually have the same issues. It's not very noticeable, but would get worse as time wears on and the bulb starts to dim. I am not sure if Dell would replace something of that nature, since it isn't really known as a defect per-say.

Ditto!....

I actually went thru 2 returns before giving up.If you stiil have warranty you can ask them to replace it....Just hope you have better luck than I had. My third try ( the one i'm using now) still have bleeding issues.

The only reason I stayed with it is for the beauty of the screen when its being used and the inputs. Man I just cant get over the number of inputs!!!!..I just need a video card with HDMI or DisplayPort....still hard to find ..a good one that is.

The issue with this monitor ( the 08 version ) is that Dell increased the number of bulbs in the display. So maybe thats why this is a common problem. I dont know if you noticed it. but the screen ( this was the case for all three that i have used) is very bright....very!!!....even at the lowest settings. So much so that any other screen I use I usually turn up the brightness now ..lol...suddenly I feel sorry for my eyes.

All in all, I personally think the pluses outweighs the negatives...so I kept mine. My next step ( whenever I get rich ...note to self ..must get rich!!!!! ) is a professional NEC monitor....sadly they dont seem to have so many inputs :(

Cheers
