Back lighting won't automatically turn off.

I loved my logitech Harmony remote but I can't use it anymore. For some reason it just stopped automatically turning off the backlight, and now runs through a set of batteries in about a week. I try to manually turn it off when I notice it but because it senses when you enter the room it constantly turns on the back light and I don't realize it is on until I use it again.

I searched the support forms and could not find any similar issues or fixes. I tried resetting it using the software but no luck. Anyone have this same issue or have any ideas how I can fix it?

Mine started doing this a few months ago, and it is quite annoying. I end up having to make sure I hit the Glow button (to stop the glow) so the batteries won't drain. I also tried to reset the remote with no luck. I have been toying with the idea of getting one the rechargeable harmonies to replace it. But they are either too expensive or don't have the backlit buttons, which I definitely need.

I haven't had this problem yet. I think I've had mine for 2 years now. Is there any technical way to remove the motion sensor that will automatically turn it on?

I've got the exact same issue. Had my remote for more then 2 years, this has been going on for about 6 months or more. Only thing I"ve been able to do is get reachargeable batteries and always have another set ready. Other then this the remote is fantastic although my 880 does seem to be of better quality. Long term I'll repalce this with the 880 and the 880 with a Harmony one.

I don't have this problem (yet?) but I use Duracell pre-charged rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries with a plug-in charger next to the sofa.
