Question about
Audio input/output connectors?
Does anybody understands why did they (Dell) put a stereo input connector if the monitor doesn't have any speakers? Is it just a "pass-throw" connector? Why? And why does the Menu on the Monitor have a "Audio Settings" tab? Am I missing something?
If memory serves me correctly (I played with one but do not own the monitor), the audio is a pass through. The audio settings allow you to choose whether the audio signal is coming from the HDMI input or the stereo input.
This is a nice feature, especially if your PC is in a cabinet as it allows you to plug your speakers directly into the monitor rather than the back of the PC case.
