Question about

Are you keeping your kindle AND getting a Kindle Fire?

I'm wrestling with whether I should sell my Kindle when the Kindle fire shows up, or keep it around. There are positive things about the e-ink kindles like sunlight reading and battery life that make me think I should keep it in a drawer for specific circumstances.

What are your plans?

yup keeping my kindle and getting the fire.

i see them as 2 different categories. the Kindle is an e-reader and the fire is a tablet. i have tried using the kindle app on my iPad and i prefer reading books on the Kindle than i do the app. its lighter and i find it more comfortable to use when reading in bed.

Right now the plans are to keep both; the Kindle for books and the Fire as tablet mode. The size of these is such a plus! Mobility with reading, fun and games. Whoa!

If you have the money, I dont think there's anything wrong with keeping both. I know plenty of people that have both a Kindle and a tablet. I have the Kindle app on my iPad and I do my reading exclusively in bed with the lights turned off, so it works for me. If you're more hardcore about reading than me, I'd use the Kindle Fire exclusively for reading, but still keep your e-ink Kindle around. If you have no problem with just the Fire, sell your Kindle!

Oh, most definitely. The LCD screen can not compare to the e-Ink screen on my Kindle Keyboard. The Fire will actually be my first tablet. So, I am very interested in testing if a smartphone, tablet, and laptop computer is right for me. And of course, having my e-Ink Kindle will help my eyes take a break from staring at so many LCD screens.

Keeping both. Won't give up e-ink, but look forward to watching movies!

Plan is to keep the Kindle and purchase the Kindle Fire. It will make a great addition. The e-ink and it's long battery life will come in handy - loan a friend or family member -

I am unsure if I am going to keep my nook when I get the kindle fire. I kind of feel like I may actually "trade" my nook for the cheapest kindle so that I can fully switch though. So to kind of answer the question...I will have both :P <3 e-ink screens.

I plan on keeping my Kindle and purchasing a Kindle Fire. My wife and I currently fight for it and I only read during my commutes to work. With the Kindle Fire being able to slide into my coat pocket (unlike the iPad) it would be the perfect addition to the fold. - But i'll miss the battery life!

I will have both. I am really going to try to use the Fire as my main reader, which if it works out, I will be selling my Kindle. If not, I have no problem keeping both, depending how good the Fire can act as a budget tablet.

Not only am I keeping both my kindles, but I have a touch 3g on order as well. in daylight, I definitely prefer e-ink, so I'll keep a kindle at work and a kindle at home. comics look better on an LCD, but the kindle fire screen is too small too read comfortable so I'll read on my Xoom or one of my ipads.
