Question about

Are delivery times for the FitBit finally reasonable? And is it worth it to order and potentially wait for it to show up?

I've been using apps on my phone to keep track of stuff but it's not thorough enough... I'm just a little nervous about committing resources to this.

You can find them on the shelf at any Microsoft Store. If you don't leave near one, just call one of them and they can ship one directly to you! FitBit rocks! I used to use a few apps but I just use the FitBit software now to manage everything.

Full disclosure, I work for Fitbit, and wanted to confirm that we are shipping out next day right now - if you ordered today, you would typically receive your order within 5 days, or sooner, depending on the location to be shipped to. We did have delayed shipping during the holidays and we appreciated our customers' patience during that time. Glad to hear other gdgt'rs found it worth the wait, and thanks for considering Fitbit!

When I ordered my fitbit last summer, the site said it would ship in 4 weeks. It ended up taking like 10. Personally, I wouldn't believe their ship dates.

It's a neat little device, worth waiting for. I like mine, shows how lazy I am :)

I just got mine a few weeks ago. I'm a data nerd, so i love seeing the graphs of active time vs. The time I spend sitting on my a$$. It's actually pretty motivational. The sleep stats are really interesting, too. I spend about 6 hours a night in bed, and sleep for about 5:45. It scores you on sleep efficiency and shows you when you move at night.

Have you tried Best Buy? I bought mine right off the shelf there.

I just wanted to follow up and say that I got the FitBit yesterday. It was a gift. :) Apparently the turn around time from order to delivery was pretty quick, as fitbitamy suggested.

I also saw some in stock at Best Buy when I was there the other day.

I will do a proper review once I have been using it for awhile but so far I am please with it... my not so inner-data nerd is full of squee.

I have been see-sawing on buying one of these for the longest time... I'm just not so sure that I'll get enough out of it to be worth the cost, but its so damn cool.

I ordered one this past November. The estimate said mid-December. On December 12th I got the e-mail to reconfirm and it shipped December 15th.
