what's the problem? My setup is a Netgear DG834G acting only as a modem connected to the Time Capsule on BT Broadband, and it works fine.

The problem is likely that the router Sky supply is, well, a router, and if you haven't told your Time Capsule otherwise, it'll probably be trying to act as one too. Unless you can set the Sky-supplied router to act as a modem only, you might want to try setting your Time Capsule to Bridge Mode using Airport Utility. Open it, click Manual Setup, Internet, then set Connection Sharing to "Off (Bridge Mode)".

Page 37 of the Apple Airport Networks guide is probably your friend:

manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Apple_AirPort_Network...

Assuming you want to connect to the Time Capsule wirelessly, rather than the Sky router, you'll probably also want to turn the Sky router's wireless off, if only to reduce possible interference.

As far as I can tell you will need to purchase an ADSL Modem rather than using the supplied Sky Router. This is because the Sky Router doesn't appear to have a setting to turn off the router mode and make it just a modem. This sounds like a simple solution but it isn't as in the UK there are not a huge selection of ADSL modem only options. The best ones for use with the Time Capsule seem to be those that are designed for business use rather than home usage. Draytek make one (www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor120.html) as do Linksys. Good Luck! I am looking to do this next month (after payday :) so I hope it works!

I have a time capsule attached to my ISP provided router, there is no need to turn off the "router " mode, you just end up with more ethernet ports into your network, if you run ethernet between your time capsule and your router.

You can turn the wireless off if you want, which is what I used to do to my ISP provided router, but now i just hae two wifi networks, which is useful if I need to restart the time capsule for whatever reason.
